Colour Contact Lens

If you are new to contact lenses, there are two things that you will need to learn - putting your contacts in and taking them out. Even if you may have got in some practice with your optician during your fitting exam, you will find things to be totally different once you step in front of your mirror at home and try to do it by yourself.

The first thing you will become aware of is that it can be difficult to put your contacts in. If you are putting them in for the first time, it can be a little tricky getting them in your eye. With a few days or a few weeks to practice, you'll be more than comfortable with your lenses.

Always keep in mind that no one is perfect, it takes all of us time to get good at it. Here are a few tips that will help you with inserting and removing your contacts.

Putting in contacts

Before you put your hands on your contacts, you should make sure that you clean your hands thoroughly, and that you dry them off. Once your hands are clean, put the contact lens on your index finger.

Next, place a drop of solution in the center of the lens. Now, use your other hand and pull down your lower eye lid with your thumb then look up with the eye you will be inserting the contact lens into.

Take your index finger with the contact on it and place it into your eye. Do not close your eye immediately, rather leave it open a few seconds to let the contact settle. After a few seconds, close your eye and your contact should be perfectly in place.

If it feels uncomfortable, take it out and try again. It may take you a few tries; although the more you put them in the better you will get at it.

Taking out contacts

Same as before, you want to make sure that your hands are clean and dry. When you are ready to take them out, look up with your eye then use your fingers to grab the contact by the sides and pull it out.

You can normally get it out on the first try, with a little practice. Once the contact is out, blink a few times to clear your eyes. If it does not want to come out, put some drops in your eye to moisten it up, and then try again.

Contact lenses are easier to use than most people may think. Once you have worn contacts for a few days or a few weeks, you will find that it becomes second nature to put them in and take them out. Once you have got the hang of it, you will be able to put them in and remove them in a matter of seconds.

Contact lenses are a great alternative to glasses. But they need to be cared for in the proper way. Taking care of your contacts isn't hard to do. Learn how to do it.

Do you have to change the solution of your colour-contact lenses everyday even if you don't use it ?

I bought new misty gray contact lenses and Im wondering if you gotta change the solution everyday even if you dont use it every day .

No, not if you use the all-in-one type of solution. I have had various colors of contact lenses for over 10 years and I change the solution in each after I wear them and some don't even get worn every month. Just make sure there is lots of solution so it doesn't dry them out.. that's a real bummer. But do change it when you use it so you don't put them back in old solution.. they are saying that might be a reason for early stages of eye diseases is putting contacts directly from your eyes into a container with the old solution and letting those germs from your eyes sit in there and fester for weeks.
So no, not every day, but every time you use them.
Enjoy your new contacts, they are fun and flirty and make you feel like a double agent of sorts. LOL

Halloween Contact Lens
How to put in Halloween Contact lenses?

I just bought halloween contacts they have upside down crosses in them and i love them, but i have no idea how to put them in.

I wear contacts and glasses. Okay. all you do is put your left hand upside and and hold up your eye lashes and hold them then put the contact on the tip of you pointer and your your ring finger to pull down you under eye and then just put it in and roll your finger on it to make sure it got on your eye. Now your eye make water a little but just wipe that away and your good. Now don't use water with contacts because water make your contacts shrivel and use regular eye drop. If you have something in your eye use the eye drops and if it don't stop hurting then take your contacts out and wash it really good with the eye drops. And put one small drop in it when you put it back in your eye and then put some eye drops in your eye then put the contact in.

Hope I helped.. P.s. I'm only 12 and I wear contacts. Trust me on this. I have wore them for a very long time. and I have a lot of skill with them.

Color Contact Lens

Color contacts are hot now - everybody wants to have beautiful bright eyes. And the best news is you don't have to pay a fortune for these eyes. Follow these tips to get cheap color contact lenses online and enjoy a new look without hurting your budget.

Tip 1: Select color contacts that don't cost a fortune

Color contact lenses are not as expensive as they were five years ago and prices can vary dramatically from brand to brand. Of course, you don't want to go for the cheapest color lenses (their look will only disappoint you), but it is still possible to find good color contacts that don't cost a fortune.

First of all, colored lenses can be divided into two major groups - disposable color contacts and annual replacement color lenses. Usually a box of disposable color contacts costs less than a single annual replacement lens. However, it is cheaper to buy a pair of annual replacement lenses than a year's supply of disposal color contacts.

Disposable color lenses which you usually replace every month or 2 weeks are typically sold in boxes of six lenses. Good examples of disposable color contacts are Freshlook Colorblends (monthly lenses), Acuvue 2 Colors (2 weeks disposable) and Expressions (monthly replacement). Annual replacement (which are good for a year) lenses like Durasoft 2 Colors or Illusions come in vials and the price is usually indicated per vial (one lens).

However, be careful. Some sites offer cheap, ‘no brand' color contacts. You don't want to get those - not only do they look obviously fake, but they are not comfortable in your eyes.

Tip 2: Look at comparison and review sites to find the cheapest price

After you select the brand you want and have obtained your prescription, it is time to find the best deal. Online prices are generally much lower than those offered by an optometrist's office. Also, from time to time online contact lens retailers put selected lenses on sale, which can get you an even better discount. There are plenty of sites that sell discount color contacts online - you can visit several of them and compare the prices.

But there is an easier way. There are many review sites that help consumers compare online deals. Visit a review site that compares prices at several online contact lens stores and gives reviews of color contact lens merchants. This way you can be sure that the company you want to buy your lens from is reputable and honest.

Tip 3: You can get cheaper color lenses if you buy large quantities.

Most online contact lens retailers give you additional discounts and free shipping on large orders. Even if you order different colors, you can usually get lower prices. For certain color lenses you can also get rebates, if you order a year's supply.

Tip 4: Get free trial color contacts before you order

Few people know about it, but you can try popular color contacts for free. Color contact lens manufacturers are happy to give you a chance to try their color contacts. They can't just send you a pair, however, because you need a prescription for color contacts the same as you do for any contact lenses. But you can get a trial certificate from manufacturer's site, and with this certificate you can get a trial pair at your doctor's office.

Rigid Contact Lens
Are dream contact lenses worth it ?

Dream lenses are overnight rigid gas permeable lenses that you put in at night and take them out in the morning and you can see the whole day without glasses.

I dont really understand why you would do this?

One of the reasons it listed was something about restrictions on how long you have contacts in your eyes..

I and most everyone I know (and my doc even recommends it) wear disposable lenses that I leave in 24/7. I take them out over night once a week to clean, and get a new pair every 2-4 weeks.

While it might be useful for some people, to me it looks like an over priced gimmick

Contact Lens Solutions

Irritation may occur as a result of worn-out lenses, over-wear of lenses, poor care of lenses, intolerance to solutions, or infections. Irritation may also occur from poor hygiene on the part of the lens wearer.

If worn longer than recommended or in people whose eyes are particularly sensitive, lenses may develop deposits on the surface of the lenses and cause irritation.

A major cause of blinding eye infections is spitting on a contact lens or putting the lens in one's mouth when no solution is available. This happens when a contact lens wearer must remove a lens or if a lens falls out of the eye and no solution is available. The best prevention is to have a small bottle of rewetting solution with you at all times. Never, never put your contact lenses in your mouth to lubricate them.

Some people use homemade or non-contact-lens saline solutions in an effort to save money. These solutions may cause severe irritation or blinding infections (some saline solutions are not sterile) and should never be used. Always use the correct contact-lens solution recommended by the fitter. If you want to change solutions, you should first check with your fitter because some solutions may be incompatible with certain lenses

It is not unusual to have some general irritation, even some redness, upon beginning contact lens wear. However, persistent redness, light sensitivity, pain, and blurred vision are the main signs and symptoms of potential eye problems. Depending on the cause, symptoms vary in intensity. In more serious infections, the pupil in the infected (red) eye may be smaller than the other pupil.

With a torn or broken lens or if there is something in the eye, there is usually a slight feeling of general irritation as if something is in the eye. There may be some associated redness.

With a poor-fitting lens or a lens that is old, there may be a slight irritation and redness associated with some blurring of vision.

Makeup on the surface of the eye or a reaction to solutions can vary from slight to marked redness of the eye with slight to marked pain.

Corneal abrasions (scratches) are usually quite painful, with or without the lens in the eye, and are associated with light sensitivity and redness. Vision may or may not be blurry.

Infections are a major concern because they may cause severe eye damage.

Simple pinkeye (a mild infection) is usually associated with redness, clear or mucous discharge, and matting of the eyelids. Vision is usually clear. When this happens, remove the contact lens in hopes of avoiding spread of the infection to the eye. Contact your fitter as to how to proceed.

Infections of the cornea are of more concern. These infections cause marked redness, light sensitivity, blurred vision, and a variable degree of pain. Occasionally, it is possible for the lens wearer to see the infection, which may appear as a white spot on the surface of the eye. These infections require immediate evaluation and care. Infections may be secondary to contaminated solutions, poor hygiene, contaminated tap water, or dirty contact-lens cases.

When a lens slips off the surface of the eye, vision immediately becomes blurry, which may or may not be associated with a sensation of something under the upper eyelid. If you can't move the lens to the correct position on the eye, you might have to seek the advice of your fitter.

Wearing Contact Lens

As the myopia people, are your eyes still well? Do you wear a pair of contact lens instead of the glasses daily? If you do, can you get along well with them? Maybe these are the series of questions for more and more people with eye problems.

Eyes are suffering a lot in modern time and the eyesight is decreasing together. To have a clear, not blurred horizon, more attention should be paid to eyes and the contact lens. To keep eyes healthy, you should take care of them as patiently as you can. Of course, it is a long process to protect the delicate eyes.

Do you like your contact lens? Do you feel the wearing experience a little annoying, too, though they are more convenient and light than a pair of glasses? You are tired to the washing work at least three times everyday, aren't you? You are dreaming a kind of contact lens that can be worn at night. There is that kind of contact lens as you have expected. According to the different ways wearing contact lens, there are several types, including the ones for daytime only, the ones for day and night and the flexible ones. Among all the kinds, contact lens for day and night allow oxygen to permeate through easily compared to the others. So they can be worn for a longer time and are the better choice for busy people. You can realize the dream wearing contact lens when sleeping. But there is still some harm to eyes, indeed. For eyes' health, you should wear contact lens at limited time and take off them when sleeping. And not every myopia person can wear contact lens. So meanwhile, not everyone having ever worn contact lens can have a pair of contact lens for day and night. People with eyes diseases can not wear them at all. If people who have dry eyes wear this kind of contact lens, their eyes will become drier then. In addition, if there is some inflammation at eyelids or conjunctiva, even wearing a plain pair is not a wise choice. By the way, the contact lens for day and night are not suitable to people having thin cornea, too.

Even though, your eyes are healthy that you can wear contact lens day and night. There are still a lot of principles that should be obeyed. Resemble the contact lens from the special glasses shop and make sure they are just comfortable to your eyes. When there are symptoms such as eyes becoming red, painful and so on, go to the doctor's at once. If your eyes can not stand contact lens day and night, change for the plain ones and wear them only in day time. After all, the health of eyes is the most important things, not the others.
